1장에서 얘기했던 내용인데. 다시 한 번.
BAD: Galloping down the road in a frenzy, Lyn saw a horse that had thrown its rider.
# galloping의 주체는 Lyn이 아니라 a horse이다.
그러므로 Lyn으로 시작하는 문장이 와서는 안된다.
GOOD: Galloping down the road in a frenzy, the horse that had thrown its rider sped past Lyn without noticing her feeble attempts to flag it down.
BAD: Heaving her backapck over her shoulder, Lyn's vacation started as she ran to catch the plane.
GOOD: Throwing down her backpack, Lyn started her visit with her mother with a hug that nearly suffocated both women.
BAD: Given that she was throwing her favorite teddy bear across the room, Peter deduced that he had crossed one of Sachiko's boundaries.
GOOD: Given that she was singing and waltzing around the living room with a feather duster, Sachiko, Peter deduced, was in a mood more conducive to productive conversation.
BAD: To solve the problem of derangements, generating functions were used by Max.
GOOD: To introduce power series, Max defined the general binomial series B(z) and the generalized exponential series E(z). |
